THE HEALTH CARE INDUSTRY, GOOD MEDICAL CARE ISBAD FOR BUSINESS.

“The surgery costs too much,” said the insurance agent. “It doesn't make good business sense for us to pay for it.”
“But without this heart operation, I'll die,” I say.
The agent shrugs indifferently. “If you think it's a good business investment, pay for it yourself. Then in a few years you'll realize it was a bad business decision.”
“At least I would be alive,”I say. “But I can't afford it myself, not even with all of my savings. That's why I bought Health Insurance, though, to help pay for medical treatments that I couldn't pay out of pocket.”
“We're not a charity, we're a business. Businesses exist to make money, and we don't make money by paying for expensive and unnecessary procedures.”
“Unnecessary,” I scream. “I'm going to die in less than two weeks without this surgery.”
“Then your life is a bad investment,” he says. “Bad for business. Your death would be good for business. In fact..” he reaches in a drawer, pulls out a gun and hands it to me. “It would really be best for business for you to just stop your heart here and now. That way no bad business will be done on your behalf.”
I stare at him, wide eyed and slack jawed. This man is actually telling me that because of my heart condition and the business cost fixing it would incur, I should just kill myself instead.
“I'm waiting,” he says. “Business wise, the only alternative that makes sense is for you to die. The only question is, will it be quick and easy now or slow and painful over the next two weeks.”
I stare at him. I cannot believe I am actually hearing this. I am so enraged that I pick up the gun.
“Good choice,” he says. “You. . .”.
He stops and screams as I shoot him in both knee caps. “There,” I say. “Now we've both got untreatible under this policy conditions, since you've had bad knees for years and so I know all knee treatments are excluded even from your policy.”
I dump the remaining bullets on the floor, walk out of the office, go home and wait to die, since there is no alternative, but at least he'll remember me every day because of the pain in his knees. Suddenly there is a great pain in my chest. I thought I still had a little bit of ti...and then everything goes black.
