LET ALL OF THE BREOKEN SHHINE AGAIN
We hear a lot these days about people who were wounded in the wars in the Middle East and thus sustained a disability being given the opportunity to shine again, either in the paraolympics or in any number of other situations. I do not say that these heroes should not be given a second chance, and I certainly honor, appreciate and thank them for their service and their sacrifice. But, some of us became disabled when we were children or were born with a disability and so military service was never an option for us. Others became disabled as adults but had chosen other paths. I do not begrudge vets with disabilities the opportunity to shine again, but let there be the opportunity for all of "The Broken" to borrow a term from my first short story on this subject all of those many months ago, to shine again.

I HAD HOPED I WAS EXAGGERATING
I had thought when I posted the stories referenced in "FROM SILENCING US TO LOCKING US UP: AN OVERALL SUMMARY OF SEVEN WEEKS OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES" that while I was accurately posting what is truly in Conservatives/Republicans hearts and minds, that I was exaggerating the actions they would really take and extent that they would really go to in this regard. However, the news this morning that Senate Republicans are blocking ratification of a United Nations Treaty that is basically a world wide extension of the protections of The Americans With Disabilities Act makes me think that at least some of these stories are perhaps not exaggerations. As someone who both to some extent is an American With a Disability and certainly has friends who are Americans With Disabilities that is, to say the least, disturbing. Obviously, I have known fore some time that my views on this matter differ from those of most Republicans, but trying to block this treaty simply because they do not like The United Nations leads me to believe that my seventh short story in which every person with a disability is made to simply stay in their homes at all times is not that far off. I hope that I am wrong, and if I have any Conservative Readers I would welcome their comments to explain to me how I am in fact wrong, but I shall interpret silence on this as confirmation that I am kn fact right. I will close by simply asking people who hold these positions how they cap possibly call themselves "Pro Life"?
